Job Title: Health Care Assistant

Reporting To: Registered Manager/ Assistant Manager/Senior Healthcare Assistants

Main Purpose of the Job

•      To provide care and other duties as part of the Service User’s individual service/care plan, to a high standard in accordance with company policies and procedures. To ensure residents retain their dignity and individuality.

•      To provide care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards under the direction of the Senior Carer.

•      To support and enable service users to maintain skills and personal interests while delivering person-centred care unique to each individual

•      To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as required from time-to-time, to maintain and progress knowledge

Duties and Responsibilities

•      Assisting with personal care including bathing, washing, shaving, oral hygiene, hair care, dressing, undressing and assist with all toilet and continence requirements. Ensuring that Service Users have given their consent prior to any examination, care, or support taking place and that all Service Users are treated with respect.

•      General light domestic duties include laundry and ironing.

•      Assisting with the cooking of light meals, preparing snacks and beverages.
