WorkwithYork are looking for an Adult Education Tutor to teach Italian. This is a part time, temporary role, 2 hours per week, Monday evening at local York School, term time only to deliver an Italian course. The duration of the assignment is expected to take place from October to the end of June / beginning of July.

The main aspects of the role are as follows:
- To plan and deliver a scheme of work for each course for adult (19+) learners, which may include learners with a range of additional needs, working at Entry 1 up to Level 2/GCSE.
- The courses will be accredited so the tutor will need to have experience of delivering Functional Skills and other accredited Italian qualifications and an understanding of the quality processes required.
- You will be working as part of a small creative team and as such will be expected to take part in regular team meetings and share resources.
- All of our courses contain a large element of IT such as Google Classroom, Zoom teaching for online classes and BKSB resources so excellent IT skills are required.
Qualification and Skills Required for the post:
- The post requires a suitable teaching qualification and preferably recent experience of teaching Italian.
- The candidate must have a minimum of a grade C/4 in Maths and English.
- The candidate must have a qualification at a higher level than the level they will be teaching. For example, if teaching Level 2 Italian you must have an A level in Italian.
- The candidate needs to be able to demonstrate awareness of both the rewards and the specific challenges of working with adult learners and ideally an appreciation of support for additional needs.
