We are Work with York Limited and are working with our Local Authority client to find a qualified and experienced Social Worker, with experience of working with children and young adults with learning disabilities.
This is a temporary, full time assignment (37 hours), based within the York area so access to York is important. The assignment is initially for 3-months and hybrid working is available.
We offer a competitive rate of weekly pay, with online timesheets, holiday pay and pension.
This role involves:
- Focusing on preparing for adulthood cases
- Working directly with young people aged 14-25 and their families
- Providing advice and support to colleagues, partners and stakeholders
- Completing visits to clients
- Working in a supportive specialist team
- Conducting assessments and reviews with a person centred practice
- Having a sound understanding of legislative frameworks underpinning adult and children’s social care.
You will:
- Have a Social Work Qualification: CQSW, Dip. SW, CSS or equivalent
- Be SWE registered
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with an enthusiastic can-do attitude and able to prioritise your workload in an organised way.
- Be an experienced social worker with experience of young people with SEND and disabilities
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Possess a current valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake an online enhanced DBS check
