About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cabling Engineer to support a large-scale IT rollout across the UK. This is a permanent role where you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network cabling systems to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
This role will involve working Monday to Thursday on night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00AM. You will work closely with the project and operations teams to ensure that all cabling installations are completed on time, to a high standard, and in line with project specifications. This role will require flexibility and a proactive approach to resolving issues as they arise.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Install, test, and maintain structured cabling systems including, Cat5e, Cat6 &
cat7e. - Perform fault diagnosis and repair to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.
- Ensure all cabling installations meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Work closely with project managers and engineers to coordinate installation schedules and meet project deadlines.
- Complete and maintain accurate installation documentation and test results.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained and used correctly.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues during the installation process.
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times on site.

About you
We are looking for an experienced Cabling Engineer with a strong background in network infrastructure installation and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience working on large-scale projects, ideally within the retail IT sector. Proven experience installing and maintaining structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat7 is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are key to succeeding in this role. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also important, as you will be working closely with the wider project team.
The successful candidate must be CommScope certified. Holding relevant industry qualifications and being IPAF trained would be an advantage. A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to travel to different sites as required is essential.
