The Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Dental Nurse Apprentice to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in dentistry while working towards a recognised Dental Nursing qualification.
You will receive full support and training while gaining valuable hands-on experience within a busy and modern dental practice.
This role would suit a school leaver or someone looking to begin a long-term career in dentistry, with opportunities for future development and progression.
Duties
- Assist dentists, hygienists, and specialists during a variety of dental procedures
- Support patients throughout their treatment journey, helping them feel comfortable and cared for
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms to a high standard
- Learn and follow infection prevention and decontamination procedures in line with HTM 01-05 guidance
- Help ensure surgeries are fully stocked, clean, organised, and ready for patient care
- Learn how to take clinical photographs and digital scans to support treatment planning post qualification
- Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment information where appropriate
- Assist with appointment booking, patient communication, recalls, referrals, and follow-up tasks
- Learn how to maintain accurate patient records and protect confidentiality
- Support the management of laboratory work and specialist referrals
- Assist with stock control, audits, compliance tasks, and day-to-day practice administration
- Use dental software, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets as part of your daily role
- Help maintain a welcoming, professional environment for patients and visitors
- Support practice marketing by assisting with social media content and patient success stories (with consent)
- Develop knowledge of specialist treatments including implants, orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, sedation, and cosmetic dentistry
