How will I make a difference as a Poppy Appeal Supermarket Organiser?
- In this role you can make a difference by raising vital funds to help support the Armed Forces community and their families. You can also help raise awareness, helping people find out more about what the Royal British Legion does and how they can support.
What will I be doing as supermarket organiser?
- Recruiting and organising volunteers to help with your collections.
- Creating collector rotas to target the store’s busiest times.
- Work with store staff/community champions to maximise your collections.
- Promoting the work of the Royal British Legion and its welfare services.
- Completing the basic paperwork required to keep a record of the collections you have organised.

What else do I need to know?
Where: Volunteer role to be carried out in the home, in community or virtually, which will be agreed with the volunteer manager.
Time commitment: A commitment of time to recruit other collectors prior to October, and then a 2 week period over the Poppy Appeal for the collections in supermarkets.
Training/Resources: Induction. Poppy Appeal Manager delivered training.
Expenses: Reasonable out-of-pocket costs agreed in advance will be reimbursed.
Extra Information: The minimum age for a supermarket organiser is 18 years old. A satisfactory reference will be required and we do reserve the right to DBS (criminal record) check.
This role is purely voluntary, and this arrangement is not meant to be a legally binding one or an employment contract.
