Youth Connect South West is a young people's charity working in Bath and North East Somerset and the surrounding area. We support young people to enjoy today, prepare for tomorrow and become the people they want to be.
Are you experienced in managing and supporting those who work with young people with complex needs?
(social work, youth work, targeted support, SEMH, safeguarding)
We are looking for someone with strong experience in supporting young people to join Youth Connect South West as our Inclusion and Engagement Manager.
This is a key role for someone who understands the realities of working with young people facing complex challenges and can use that experience to oversee services, people, and safeguarding with confidence.
This role would suit someone who:
· Has significant experience supporting young people with complex needs (for example SEMH, trauma, disengagement, safeguarding)
· Comes from a background such as social work, youth work, targeted support services, or pastoral care
· Has experience shaping or delivering services for vulnerable young people
· Is experienced in managing and supporting others, including delivery managers
· Has strong safeguarding knowledge, including being confident acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer (DDSO/DDSL)
In this role, you will:
· Oversee delivery managers working across our Alternative Education provision
· Support and develop a passionate team
· Ensure high-quality, safe, and inclusive support
· Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting strong safeguarding practice
· Work with schools, local authorities, and partners to improve outcomes
This is an opportunity to step into a senior role within a values-led organisation, helping shape services that support young people who need us most.
We are an independent, non-profit charity dedicated to supporting young people across Bath, Somerset and beyond. We provide a wide range of opportunities for 11–25-year-olds, offering both universal and targeted support to help them thrive – whether that’s through youth work, 1:1 mentoring, careers advice or bespoke educational provision.
Our services are as varied as the young people we support. Alongside open-access youth spaces like our Bath City Centre Youth Space, Radstock Youth Hub and Southside Youth Centre, we deliver dynamic Alternative Education programmes for those who are unable to access mainstream education. These flexible and person-centred courses offer a vital route back into learning for young people experiencing anxiety, mental health challenges, disrupted schooling, or a loss of confidence in traditional education.
